'Coronation Street' star Rob James-Collier has said that he is glad to be leaving the show because he wants to cast off his sex symbol image.
The 31-year-old actor told New! Magazine that winning the award for Sexiest Male at the British Soap Awards for the last two years had made him want to pursue a different acting project.
The actor said: "In a way this is why I am glad to be leaving the show."
He continued: "As soon as you appear on screen in a towel, bingo, you're the sexiest male."
Speaking about his future, he said: "I won't be doing panto. I want to be taken seriously as an actor and that means landing the right part."
